The Spritzouille, an easy-to-make cocktail recipe

spritzouille

Abdoul Dramé, head bartender at Pedzouille, offers this delicious variant of the Spritz that is so simple to recreate at home.

Forget the Prosecco. In this version of the Spritz à la francaise, the classic Italian cocktail gets a makeover with sparkling Crémant de Loire. Our Spritzouille is sensational as an apéritif, and so adaptable, as any fruit liqueur works well here. It’s different strokes – and tastes and colours – for different folks, but everyone will be buzzing about this wonderfully refreshing cocktail!

Ingredients (one serving)

  • 50 ml grapefruit liqueur, Roussillon apricot liqueur, rhubarb liqueur or your choice of liqueur
  • 90 ml Crémant de Loire sparkling wine
  • soda water
  • bitters

Method

In a balloon glass, add crushed ice and stir with a spoon until the glass is cold. Drain any meltwater.

Pour in the fruit liqueur of your choice, then the Crémant de Loire. Complete the cocktail with a splash or two of soda water (to taste) and three drops of bitters.

Stir gently with a spoon and serve.

Bartender’s tip

As a garnish, add a slice of the same fruit as the liqueur that you used.
