Enter the Hangar and you immediately spot the retro-industrial aesthetic and the huge Lumière brothers portrait. A tribute to the two inventors' former workshop is just opposite. This bistro restaurant is all about modern cuisine, with a reworked menu every three weeks that focuses on home cooking and fresh seasonal produce. Enjoy in the dining room, or on the terrace when the fine weather arrives!
Winter and summer, the menu is fresh, hearty and seasonal. The Hangar is no factory: Coraline, the head chef, creates her bistro menu from fresh ingredients, mostly from local sources. The quality of meat, fruit, vegetables and cheeses contributes in large part to the foodie reputation of Lyon, dubbed France's culinary capital. Besides being a well-known restaurant in Monplaisir Part-Dieu, the Hangar is also a lively bar with DJ sets, after-work parties and other events. Workers and locals pop in through the day for a drink or coffee in a chilled atmosphere. You can also find great regional shared platters at the bar, from sliced sausage and Saint-Marcellin cheese to craft Lyon beers like Tête d'Or and Confluence.

A tribute to cinematography
A cinema now classified as a historical monument, Le Hangar du Premier-Film was the Lumière brothers' workshop, featured in "Workers Leaving the Lumière Factory". It was the first film made with Auguste Lumière's Cinématographe to be shown to a public audience. Le Hangar celebrates this tradition of innovation through its industrial décor and its use of touch screen menus.
Coraline Forest
Born in Lyon, Anthony Monnet was raised with a love for good food. Trained in cookery at the François Rabelais school, Anthony worked as chef de partie at several brasseries of the Bocuse group, then as sous-chef at Hostellerie Le Baou in Ramatuelle. Over the next 10 years, he evolved into the role of chef at several gastronomic restaurants in the Var. Once back in Lyon, he took over the kitchens at Hotel Lyon Métropole. Recently a catering chef in the C-Gastronomie group (Bocuse), Anthony is taking on a new challenge at Le Hangar to make it one of the best bistronomic restaurants in Lyon.

Super expérience au hangar nous sommes venus pour un repas entre collègues. Le service était vraiment super , serveurs pro efficaces et souriants 👌☀️ la nourriture est bonne et originale tout en restant simple. Gnocchis très bons même si un peu gros et bourratifs. Les cocktails sont très bons. Je recommande vivement, merci encore à toute l’équipe.

Très bon restaurant entres collègues, l'ambiance était très sympathique. Les plats commandés à l'avance car nous étions nombreuses étaient un vrai avantage nous avons attendu peu de temps pour se faire servir.
Merci au chef d'avoir pu enlever le jambon cru sur mon plat car je suis enceinte. Les gnocchis maison étaient très bons, un peu gros a mon goût mais très très bon. Les autres plats avaient l'air bien goûteux. Je pense que tout le monde s'est régalé.
