Named in honour of the barbican, part of the historic city fortifications, our century-old restaurant sits at the heart of medieval Carcassonne. Soak up its remarkable atmosphere in the majestic dining room, decorated with beamed wooden ceilings and stained-glass windows.
Our chef takes his inspiration from local producers and Mediterranean fishermen, taking pride in creating recipes using vegetables and herbs from our garden. Try our signature dish: fillet of Aubrac beef and foie gras, baby carrots and dauphinoise potatoes with summer truffles, served with a rich Périgord sauce.
Take a breather on our panoramic terrace to admire the spectacular views over the ramparts and Bastide Saint-Louis. Relax in these peaceful surroundings and sample a Rigolo Spritz, our signature, vermouth-based cocktail, created in collaboration with Carcassone's artisan liqueur maker, Cabanel.

2 weeks agoWe booked this restaurant for our engagement anniversary. The place is special: it has beautiful castle view, terassa, greenery, very peaceful. We had the lunch menu. The food was good, but not too outspoken. We liked the kyr as aperitivo, very good. We also recommend the pistachio desert, which was the best thing from the entire lunch. Overall great!
