A culinary experience of Japan's four seasons

Mikuni tries to incorporate Japan's four seasons into every detail such as slices of fresh fish being garnished with seasonal flowers, such as sakura blossoms in spring. A nice Japanese restaurant accessible from either Fairmont lobby L3 or the Raffles City mall. You will be ushered to your seat and frankly the tables seem a little too close to each other. There is a 2-seater near the teppanyaki bar which you may request if you need more privacy/tend to talk very loud. Sashimi from the Mikuni lunch set ($100) was f...

resh and you could have it without any soy sauce. Servers are attentive with pouring you the soy sauce, getting your plates cleared, and other refills. Dessert was a nice sweet potato ice cream filled with occasional bits of the purple mashed and has a full milky goodness to it. The salad appetiser was average. Photos taken look great as there was a spotlight strategically positioned above each seat, otherwise lighting is deliberately darker for a more exclusive ambience.

It’s been some years that i last visited this restaurant. So we revisit this restaurant in April 2023. I think they did some renovations as it looks different from the last time we came. Good quality were good, no complaints! Great job! The dessert, however, i strongly recommend must try. It’s unique n special!

Just called in to book Mikuni dining for 20th May, the person who pick up my call name (Shuba/Suba) not sure whether did I write the name correctly. This lady tele service was horrible. She just like a robot and just keep talking and did not even give the chance to the customer to ask a question. Very horrible service. Till now I also don’t know...

whether will I get my counter seat even though we confirmed it. Because of the service. And this is a 5 star hotel??
