I enjoyed the small plates like burrata more. The barramundi (main) was good with the gravy. I had the iberico pork chop which I find it too thick and lean for my liking. Could put in better effort in the mocktail presentation. It was a freaking birthday celebration. I edited this because the surprise cake was ruined. Seriously, they charge $35 to BRING YOUR OWN CAKE and for them to walk and bring it over to you. Then afterwards make the most tone deaf decision to walk out with the cake in front of the birthday boy (yes they know who it is). Afterwards waived it off but srsly for the price we paid, unacceptable. I think Collins/astons/freaking McDonald’s might do it better if we ASKED. Arrived at 12.30pm for a reservation for 10 pax, first of all, for a place who requires a dress code, they are severely understaffed. Having only staff wearing blazers who can take orders and the rest of the staff unable to do so for some reason, means we had to wait for a long time before having someone to take our order. The best thing was the bread to be honest. But I’m not even sure if their complimentary bread can beat other places who charge the same or lesser on their menu. For 10 people, you should expect them to have a long table where no one would need to squeeze, but they didn’t prepare that so we waited 40 mins in total, it was 1.10pm by the time we were seated. The food was mediocre at best, and I needed to find things nice about the restaurant like “oh nice plates” or “oh wow nice view” but the food was subpar. I ordered the 3 course meal, had the beef salad, halibut and chocolate cake. Personally I don’t like the beef salad because of the fishy aftertaste in my mouth after the starter, this is a personal reference I fully understand. My halibut was nice, but nice in a way where it was a nice fish that’s it 🙂. My friends who got the pork (which didn’t feel like iberico) and it tasted like a less tasty char siu pork at the hawker centre. It was tough and didn’t go with the random yellow sauce on the side. The cabbage was mediocre. So I’ll leave it to your imagination on whether this meal which was almost $1000 was worth all of the above.
