Das Restaurant Piatti im Raffles Hotel Dubai bietet eine wunderschöne Lage direkt am Strand und eine stilvolle Atmosphäre. Wir hatten die Wahl, entweder draussen mit Blick auf das Meer oder drinnen zu sitzen.

Der Service war freundlich und sehr schnell. Ein kleiner Minuspunkt war die Klimaanlage im Innenbereich, die etwas zu kalt eingestellt war. Draussen war es aber zu windig, daher entschieden wir uns für drinnen.

Die Speisen überzeugten mit Frische und Qualität. Besonders die Auswahl an frischem Fisch und Hummer ist hervorzuheben. Mein Lachs war perfekt zubereitet und geschmacklich hervorragend.

Preislich bewegt sich das Restaurant auf einem Niveau, das mit der Schweiz vergleichbar ist.

Wenn wir nicht im Raffles selber übernachten würden, wären wir aber nicht extra in dieses Restaurant gekommen.

The service was actually great, and the food was excellent. Our waiters were polite and made some great suggestions in food as well as wine.
Our experience was however ruined in the end when we realised (after payment) that we were charged for wine we did not order. We ordered 4 glasses of red, but was charged for 2 additional glasses of white wine as well.
They apologised ofcourse and returned the amount incorrectly charged, however I came away feeling dissatisfied because they did not do a basic check before charging a customer. Did not expect this from a reputable restaurant.

Disappointing Experience at the Italian Restaurant

We had an extremely disappointing experience at the Italian restaurant during our stay, which did not meet the standards expected from such an establishment.

It started with the rain upon arrival. We were seated at a table for six but were completely ignored—no one welcomed us, offered drinks, or gave us menus. After 15 minutes, our butler noticed the issue and intervened. A server eventually brought menus but didn’t say a single word. It felt unprofessional and cold.

When we tried to order pizzas, we were told they weren’t available due to the rain. This should have been communicated earlier! Adding to the frustration, we weren’t offered a wine or drinks menu the entire evening.

When the food arrived, the portions were shockingly small—my dish had just nine ravioli. Basic accompaniments like parmesan, olive oil, salt, and pepper were missing, and we had to ask for them. We shared our concerns with the manager, who apologized and blamed the rain for disrupting their service. While I understand this may have been an exceptional situation, it is no excuse for such poor service.

The worst part of the evening came as we were leaving. We had arrived with five umbrellas and left with only three. A staff member stopped us at the entrance, asking for the umbrellas back, claiming they were “reserved for other guests,” as if we weren’t clients ourselves. This was deeply embarrassing and entirely unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber.

Overall, this experience was far below expectations and left us very disappointed. Such service and behavior are simply not what one expects from a luxury establishment.
