LA CORDERIE ROYALE

Located on the site of the Corderie Royale in Rochefort, our restaurant invites you to discover our peaceful setting. Relax on the terrace and breathe in fresh air from the Charente, or admire the pastoral panorama through the dining room's glass walls. The bistronomic cuisine, revealing the region's treasures, is sure to thrill your tastebuds. 

Have a seat around one of the tables that line the restaurant's magnificent picture windows. Watch as a parade of people stroll under the enormous trees that border the river, or turn your gaze towards the immense park surrounding Rochefort's historic Corderie Royale (Royal Rope Factory). Our menu is a celebration of the region's best products: Pineau des Charentes liqueur, cheeses from La Vache Charentaise, oysters from the aquaculturist Philippe Menadier. Even more local are the herbs, grown in our kitchen garden, that enliven each meal. Souris d'agneau (lamb shank), our signature menu item, pairs wonderfully with potato mousseline and ratatouille. When you're in the mood for something simple, choose one of our salads featuring the finest from land and sea. Our chef lavishes every dish with care and attention. On sunny days, relax on the shaded terrace and guess what ingredients are in that week's special cocktail. The armchairs scattered on the lawn invite you to immerse yourself even deeper in the tranquil setting. Starting around evening, the restaurant comes to life with music, dancing or a concert.
