Push open the door of Brasserie Molitor, a not-to-be-missed address in the heart of the 16th arrondissement, where the art of Parisian brasserie is sublimated. The menu celebrates the great classics of French cuisine in all their authenticity, with particular attention paid to the quality of the produce and traditional know-how.
Toujours un plaisir d'y déjeuner. Au top ! (Translated by Google) Always a pleasure to have lunch there. At the top!
Visited Brasserie Molitor for their Sunday brunch. The building itself is stunning, an iconic art deco structure with a view over the pool that feels unique in Paris. However, the interior design choices of the hotel and restaurant are puzzling. The graffiti-style tags and industrial concrete elements feel jarring and completely disconnected from the building’s heritage. It feels more like a throwback to 2005 than a celebration of art deco, and it doesn’t resonate in 2024, especially for a five-star establishment. We were seated right next to the buffet, which wasn’t ideal. If you go, definitely ask for one of the limited tables facing the pool or on the terrace like we did, those spots are clearly more pleasant. The food was decent for a buffet brunch, which is becoming increasingly rare, but the sweet selection was underwhelming. What really let the experience down was the service. It was well below expectations for a five-star hotel: understaffed, with waiters who didn’t seem familiar with the menu. I ordered a dirty chai and received what seemed to be a matcha with coffee, when I asked, the waitress had to ask me what a chai even was. That kind of confusion shouldn’t happen when you’re offering specialty drinks. To make matters worse, we waited nearly 15 minutes for a mediocre coffee. A proper barista is clearly needed. All in all, it’s not a brunch I’d recommend, especially not at €85 without drinks!
(Translated by Google) Brasserie in a pleasant setting with a view of the Molitor swimming pool. Quality cuisine. We had the dish of the day and burgers. A delight! The server was welcoming. A little expensive but we had a great time as a family!
Des classiques de la bistronomie française dans un très beau décore mais un service affreusement lent alors que le restaurant était loin d’être plein. Dommage nous n’avons pas eu le temps de prendre un dessert. In 1929, the Molitor pool was opened by American Olympic swimmer, Johnny Weissmüller, aka Tarzan. It remained the most popular swimming pool in Paris until its closure in 1989. The site then became a hotspot for graffiti artists before being listed as a historical monument. The story continues at Brasserie Molitor, where guests can admire the iconic pool and fully absorb the building's creative energy.
